I began in my present job at IBM's Silicon Valley Laboratory in San Jose, CA in July 2005. My official job title there is "Software Engineer."

However, I am part of the DB2 for z/OS Information Development team and my primary role is that of a technical writer. Our team delivers technical information about DB2 for z/OS in the Information Management Solutions for z/OS Information Center (IMZIC).

We use the topic-based DITA XML standard to write our topics, and transform them to PDF and XHTML formats for delivery in print and on the Web.

I write content for the DB2 for z/OS Performance Montioring and Tuning Guide, and for two Eclipse-based SQL optimization tools: IBM Optimization Service Center for z/OS and DB2 Optimization Expert for z/OS.

I also serve as content editor for the DB2 for z/OS pages on the ibm.com website.
