Barry taught Bible classes (he is an ordained Teaching Elder) at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church a congregation in the Presbyterian Church in America, where he served as Associate Pastor (1979-1995), and as Assistant Pastor for Equipping Ministries (1998-2003). CHPC is now named Crossroads at Lake Stevens. The McWilliams currently attend Ascension Presbyterian Church, which meets in Lynnwood, Wa., a P.C.A. congregation and part of the Crosspoint Churches - a "multi-site" congregation.
His most recent class was on Bible interpretation: "Dusting off the Good Book". Some of the other classes he has taught have included Making the Good Confession: Reformers of the Sixteenth Century; What does the Bible say about Being Married?; Ecclesiastes: A Reality Check; another study odyssey: Encounters: How do Christians relate to Contemporary Thought; and Stewardship 101: For the third world and the rest of us.. Though now an honorably retired member of the Presbytery of the Pacific Northwest, PCA, Barry enjoys preaching whenever he gets an opportunity.
Barry and Marianne have been involved in Short Term Missions in Hungary and Uganda. He made a missions trip to Hungary and Uganda in the Spring of 2001, and three more trips to Uganda in March, 2003, May, 2005 and November, 23007and is looking forward to more trips. Barry started telling stories in Reach Out Summer Vacation Bible Schools, has developed six VBS Curriculums available on this site, and often uses storytelling in his teaching and preaching the Gospel. His curriculum, Wanted! Children after God's Own Heart! © has been used by many churches since 2000. He has a useful Christian Teacher's Manual.
Barry lives in Everett, Wa. in Snohomish County near Seattle.
He is married to Marianne, a avid quilter and Bible student. She works at Sno- Isle Natural Foods Co-op in Everett, Wa. She and group of other Northwest women made a two week quilting ministry trip to Hungary and Poland in the Spring of 2002, and Marianne made her fourth trip to Kaposvár in March, 2004

Paul was married to Brianne O'Fallon of San Jose in August, 2006 and they live in San Jose, Ca. Brianne received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Samuel Merritt University in the Spring of 2009. They enjoy their two cats, Bay Area biking or hiking, visiting local parks, and the area's "Jazz scene". Paul enjoys taking pictures of their outings.
Paul is a 2004 graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Technical Communication. Before College and the University, He served for four years in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Salvor, one of the USS Navy's "high tech" salvage ships. Graduating with High Honors from Everett Community College in the winter of 2001, Paul was called back for an additional year of active duty at Naval Station Everett in September of 2001 before beginning his studies at the UW. Paul served in the U.S. Naval Reserve during his college and university years.
Their daughter, Sarah Balogh, served as an International Messengers missionary in Kaposvár, Hungary from 2000 to 2008. Her monthly Prayer Letters are also on this website. She was married in the late summer of 2002 to Bruno Balogh of Mende, Hungary. After several years of ministry in Kaposvar, the Balogh's moved South Everett in March of 2008, Sarah works at SnoIsle and Bruno does Maintainence work for their apartment complex. Barry and Marianne have two grandsons, and a grandaughter. Both Robert Norman Balogh (Robi), born October 21st, 2004, and Benjamin David Balogh (Benji) born on August 3rd, 2007 were born in Hungary. Abigél Eliza Balogh (Abbi) was born November 11th, 2009 in Everett. Having them close by has been good, with many outings to local parks and beaches, the Imagine Children's Museum, and the Woodland Park Zoo.
Besides Browsing the Web, Building Web pages, and doing Bible study, Barry also enjoys collecting Chess sets; Cooking, building Wood Ship Models, solving Sudoku, and playing Table games especially the new "Euro Games", including Carcassonne and Mancala. He does a lot of Reading both fiction and non-fiction, especially history and listening to Jazz and Classical Music. Barry is interested in Graphic Design (using CorelDraw8 and Paint Shop Pro 5 to do his computer artwork) and has aspirations to learn Watercolor.
